Facial Wrinkles

(because knowledge is power)

(When we talk about wrinkles, we are not referring to the furrows that are produced by the sagging of tissues due to the loss of fat or the effects of age and gravity.)

TREATMENT TYPES

NON-SURGICAL TREATMENTS

SURGICAL TREATMENTS

NON-SURGICAL TREATMENTS

BOTULINUM TOXIN

It consists of the application of botulinum toxin to reduce the mobility of a muscle or group of muscles.

The treatment, correctly performed, cannot be considered painful.  It is applied to wrinkles on the forehead and glabellar area (between the eyebrows).

The result can be seen within a few days and its effect lasts, on average, between 3 and 6 months depending on various factors.

It should not be repeated before 6 months and may produce less effect with repeated treatments.

It does not remove wrinkles, it paralyses muscles. The ideal is to reduce the power of the muscle to achieve a natural result and not a paralysis that causes “expressionless wrist face”.

FILLERS

There are different products, the most used is Hyaluronic Acid in its different presentations.

It can be used to fill wrinkles and small furrows.

It is always necessary to evaluate if the treatment is indicated or if a surgical intervention is necessary.

SKIN NUTRITION

Injections of nutritional substances (amino acids, vitamins, trace elements, etc.) by means of manual microinjections or using devices.

Injections without needles are not recommended because of the side effects that can occur.

It is a very good treatment to prevent and slow down ageing.

LASER

Ablative lasers (CO2, Erbium), whose function is to remove layers of skin, can be used to treat wrinkles and acne.

Other types of lasers can be used to eliminate vascular aesthetisms.

Low energy lasers can also be used to increase the elasticity and hydration of the skin.

PEELINGS

Chemical products are used to “peel” the skin. It can be mildly aggressive or very aggressive depending on the desired result.

It can also be used to remove skin blemishes.

As with ablative laser treatments, it should be done in autumn and winter and protected from the sun to avoid the appearance of spots.

BIOPLASTY

It is not a wrinkle treatment. It is a facial biomodelling with which some nasal defects or the facial contour can be remodelled.

GROWTH FACTORS AND STEM CELLS

Platelet growth factors (PGP), extracted from the patient’s own blood, or stem cells, extracted by microliposuction, are used to inject them into the face.

Their effect is regenerative and they improve the texture and structure of the skin.
